I fully believe that Jackie McCrady is completely innocent in the murder of his wife.
This whole case was a sham from the beginning. The police department's "investigation" was inept, inexperienced and just plain sloppy.
I am still in shock over the lack of proper investigation, securing of the crime scene (or lack of) and just every aspect of this case.
Jackie McCrady is innocent - I just hope and pray that one day this will be proven.

Hi Bonnie! I've previously signed your guest book, but wanted to do so again just to let you know what an awesome job you have done with your website.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the hard work and dedication that you have put into all of your research and work - you are truly a wonderful, caring lady who I deeply respect.
As we both know, Jackie McCrady is INNOCENT of the ridiculous charge brought against him by the corrupt, inept and pathetic excuse for law enforcement officials in Washington County, Ohio who believe for a second that one of their very own could be responsible for his wife's death.
If anyone with half of a brain reviews the facts of the case, they will see what a sham this "set-up" really is.
It is a real tragedy in this country when an innocent man is sent to prison for a crime that he so obviously did NOT commit.
I just pray that one day the truth will come out and Jackie McCrady will walk out of Ross Correctional Institute a free and vindicated man.

I don't know if you were aware of it or not but Jenny McCrady was murdered by her husband, to which he is serving a life sentence. She was not connected to a serial killer this was a crime of passion.
I went to High School with Jenifer (Barrett) McCrady, she was a really nice girl, it was really hard to believe a crime like hers was possible in our little town in SE Ohio.
Just thought you would like to know and maybe update this website.

Tim,
Thank you for writing and advising that I update my web site. I'll look into that just as soon as I have time.
No one ever said Jenifer McCrady wasn't a "nice girl," and whether her murder was a crime of passion or not, no one ever actually said that either, and yes, I know for sure because I sat through the entire trial and took notes, plus I've read all the transcripts, police reports, autopsy reports, interviews, etc.
Most "crimes of passion" do not involve post mortem wounds. Jenifer's death did. Most crimes of passion do not include plastic bags over the head of the deceased. Jenifer's death did. Most crimes of passion, involving a gun shot to the head, shed some blood at the crime scene. Jenifer's death didn't.
I might not have gone to school with Jenifer, since I'm old enough to be her mother, but my daughter did her hair, and my son-in-law grew up across the street from her and his sister's were good friends with Jenifer.
Her father was my veterinarian for many years and I always had the utmost respect for Mr. and Mrs. Barrett, and still do, but there were many things within that case that were never brought to the Barrett's attention nor to the publics attention.
As far as her murder not being connected to a serial killer ..... I sure hope you are right, because the little town of Belpre still has 2 unsolved murder cases you know. Do you remember Marie Blough? How about little 18 year old Terri Roach?
IF Jackie McCrady murdered his wife ...... and yes, I'm very much aware that he was convicted. Our prisons have many, many innocent people in them, as DNA evidence is now proving ..... but if he's guilty, then unless he also murdered Terri and Marie ..... which would make him a serial killer ...... then the folks of Belpre, Ohio are no more safe and secure than those of Little Hocking. Come to think of it, Little Hocking hasn't lost any of our women yet, but Belpre sure has, and so has the surrounding towns of Parkersburg and Marietta. Both of which have 2 or 3 cases each, which gives us one of two things - a total of 7 homicidal maniacs hiding among us - or a serial killer!!!
Like I said ...... thanks for writing. I'll be more than happy to add a response page in the McCrady section and post your concerns as part of my update.
Sincerely,
Bonnie M. Wells
More to come whenever I get around to it ..... in fact there's a lot more to come. / Bonnie
