Dreams Of Terri

Winter Of 2001-2002

I'd spent most of the 2001 and 2002 winter working on the Pure Coincidence books and trying to get them finished. The project was long past due, but try as I might, I could not get the entire series completed. This year was to be no exception.

May 4th should have been Terri Roach's 30th birthday ... if someone had not murdered the kid when she was 18 years old, that is.

The case had been my "pet case" since day one, but there were so many others now that I sometimes didn't have time to think about Terri's case very much. And yet, I never forgot her birthday, never failed to decorate her grave when I decorated my own family member's graves.

Many of the old "die hards" that had hung in there with me for so long, continued to pray for our cops, our dead girls and even for each other. Sometimes we prayed that God would send a dream to a stranger instead of the immediate circle because we reached the point sometimes that we feared we were dreaming things that were in our subconscious minds.

The last thing our cops needed was hallucinations or imaginations, and Lord knew I didn't need them in my work.

And surprisingly enough, there were times when strangers found their way to me and reported dreams that they had not a clue as to what they meant, but I could see they pertained to one case or another.

Our prayers had slowly evolved to the point that we were all asking God to send us the name of the killer [or killers] of "our girls." Of course Terri headed that list ... even though she was not the first one murdered.

Even after all these years, I continued to suspect that we [or the police] should be looking for a serial killer.

The night of Terri's birthday was no exception. Prayers went up that requested the name of our girls' killer[s].

May 2002

It had been a long time since I'd had anything spiritual come in on the Terri Roach case. There had been a few actual "tips" from classmates and friends, but none of them were anything that I hadn't already heard a dozen times or more.

For all intents and purposes the "Roach" case seemed long forgotten by almost everyone.

The first dream of Terri for the year 2002 came in the night of her birthday. The dreamer was...
