The Drama Begins

The mystery and drama began in early 1992.....before the murders of Patsy Sparks and Ronda Manley. But I wouldn't even begin to understand the ramifications of it until 1996.
I received a phone call from a friend asking if I would be willing to meet with two women at a Marietta restaurant. My friend said that one of the women....a Mrs. Mary Dye had a dream that she believed concerned Washington County murder victim Terri Lee Roach. Her friend, Georgia Rudolph wanted the dream interpreted, in hopes of assisting law enforcement in the unsolved murder case.
I agreed to meet with them, and my friend Judy and I drove to Shoney's Restaurant, where they waited for us. Although Judy and I had met Georgia Rudolph a year or so earlier, it was the first time either of us met Mary Dye.
Mary's Dream

Mary recounted the dream that she said she'd had several times since Terri was murdered in 1990.
I took notes and jotted down details, while Judy drew a picture of the house and grounds that Mary described from her dream. Georgia Rudolph sipped a cup of coffee and explained that she knew Mary's dream was important, but that she could not interpret dreams, and therefore did not know what it meant.
Reality vs Symbolic

The dream didn't require much "interpreting," since it was not a 'symbolic' dream. About the only thing that was actually needed was "dream identification."
Neither Judy nor I had any trouble at all with Mary's dream. We both knew the man and the house that had been described to us..... knew them well.
The four of us sat in the restaurant talking even after it was officially closed for the night. As we left Georgia pointed toward a woman who was driving through the parking lot and said...."See that woman? She will be dead in a month. She is going to be murdered."
I still recall the chill that raced down my spine as I glanced at the light haired woman driving a red car. The woman had obviously been inside the restaurant with us, why had she not said something in time to stop the woman? Why had she not tried to warn the woman? Why had she waited until the woman was beyond reach to say such a thing?
The questions pestered me for a long time.
Judy and I discussed what had happened several times.....and we waited.....a month....two months...
Dream Is Identified

I took Mary Dye to her "dream" house that night, and I showed it to her. But I didn't mention or show her the one thing that was the kicker. That's because as soon as she saw the house she became fidgety and anxious and couldn't get away fast enough. She insisted it was not the correct house, but her reaction spoke far louder than her words. I knew better. Still, who was I to contradict the personal interpretation of a woman who, only an hour earlier, boldly admitted that neither she nor her reincarnated friend could do dream interpretations or identifications? All I could wonder was why they called me in the first place.
Patsy Sparks Disappears

Patsy Dawn Sparks disappeared in April of 1992, and immediately I knew she was dead.
I expected Mary Dye or Georgia Rudolph to call any second ...
"Could Georgia have been off a month or so," I questioned Judy.
But Judy didn't seem to believe that the woman in the car was Patsy, although neither of us had gotten a real good look at her. Still, we thought the woman was older than Patsy's 19 years. And by June of 1992 we knew we'd been right. Patsy Sparks didn't own a vehicle. It was not her that we'd seen or that Rudolph had pointed out. Neither Rudolph or Dye ever called. I wondered then how concerned they were with the Terri Roach case. And I wondered "why" they were so concerned over it.
Winstanley Enters The Picture

I've always been somewhat unusual in some respects. Regardless of how much I wish something was mine......if it isn't, then I will say so. And so it was with the dream that Mary gave me that night. Oh sure, the interpretation and identification were mine, but the dream wasn't. I titled it The Swimming Pool Basement Dream, and it was among the first items I ever handed to Detective John Winstanley in early 1993. I included the name of the "dreamer" as well as my own name as the "interpretor" of the dream.
Winstanley signed a contract with me that day. That contract said that my work on the homicide cases had to be kept within the field of law enforcement and could be shared with no one outside that field.
I reserved all rights to the work, and the contract plainly stated that none of the work given was to ever be used for personal gain, whether that gain be financial, personal advancement, national tv, books, etc.
My work was donated to my home county and the sheriff's department. It was never sold to them, and no reward of any kind was ever given to me regardless of what or how much I gave.
Shoney's Restaurant Again!

Ronda Ellen Manley was murdered in August of 1992 I damned near came unglued when I learned that she worked at Shoney's Restaurant in Marietta! The very place where I'd met with Rudolph and Dye. The very place where Rudolph had indicated a "woman being murdered."
I just knew my phone would ring......and it would be Rudolph or Dye.....or both ... asking that we all meet again. All work together to assist our police on the Manley case. But no call came.
The next time I heard of Georgia Rudolph, it was through a young woman who informed me that she was studying with Rudolph... " to become psychic." Hell, I didn't even know you could "become psychic."
I was so stupid I thought you were either born that way or you weren't!
Guess I was wrong though because I recalled the first time I ever saw Georgia Rudolph. She had told a packed audience that she was not "psychic," but that she was a re-incarnated individual.
Something must have happened between 1991 and 1993. She had somehow learned to be psychic! Her lesson's weren't over though... not by a long shot. By 1996 she had not only become "psychic" but was actually doing dream interpretations and identifications .... or so the story goes!
And ... I was impressed.... or so I thought,
back in those naive days....
