Crissy Lee Goodenough

Family Of Missing Pocono Woman Asking Public For Help

The family of Crissy Lee Goodenough, whom they haven't seen or heard from since April 23, is asking the public to contact them if anyone has information on her whereabouts.

Goodenough, 31, had been staying with her mother, Rosemary “Rose” Zerden, on Avon Court in East Stroudsburg when she went to visit a relative in Dickson City on April 23, the day before Zerden's birthday.

Goodenough, who has no driver's license, vehicle or cell phone, was driven to Dickson City.

She left her relative's home at 1:30 p.m. that day to walk to the Dickson City Post Office nearby. That was the last time anyone saw or heard from her, even though the person she mailed the letter to has since received it.

Her family said Goodenough has friends in Scranton and that she had $10, enough for bus fare to Scranton, when she was last seen, but that none of her Scranton friends have been in contact with her. The family has been looking and putting fliers up in the Dickson City, Scranton and East Stroudsburg areas.

“It's not like her to go off somewhere for this long and not contact anybody,” Zerden said. “She's not on any medication and she doesn't do drugs. We got along and we weren't having any problems, so there was no reason for her to leave.”

Police said they are not investigating because Goodenough doesn't meet certain Pennsylvania Missing Persons Declaration criteria to be officially viewed as a missing person.

She's not under 18, physically or mentally challenged or ill or considered a danger to herself or others, though her family said she is asthmatic and forgot to take her nebulizer with her. She left of her own free will and police see nothing suspicious about her absence.

Goodenough, the youngest of Zerden's four children, was born in New Jersey and raised in Monroe County. She earned her general equivalency diploma and worked at Shawnee Resort until being laid off more than a year ago.

She is 5 feet 5 and 130 pounds with dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes. Anyone who sees or has seen her is asked to call Zerden at 570-421-3624.

From Web Sleuths:

"Goodenough, the youngest of Zerden's four children, was born in New Jersey and raised in Monroe County. She earned her general equivalency diploma and worked at Shawnee Resort until being laid off more than a year ago. "

Crissy Goodenough is listed in the "found safe' section on the web, but when I went to Web Slueths to verify this, I could find no information about her actually being found. If anyone has this information - a news article, or first hand knowledge, - would you please send it to me so I can post it. Thanks.
